The floodplain area of Záhorie represents a frequently flooded landscape shaped by river dynamics.
- We are restoring wetland habitats by disabling drainage canals and reconnecting river meanders with the main channels of the Morava and Rudava rivers.
- Along selected sections of the Morava River, we are removing stone bank reinforcements to restore the river’s natural dynamics.
- On agricultural land, we are creating grasslands intended for grazing.
- By removing non-native tree species, we are restoring the natural composition of unique pine–lichen forests.

he Morava floodplain is a rare, well-preserved area of floodplain forests and meadows with minimal negative human impact. It is home to many endangered plant and animal species.
